Found this after going through some rubbish, brings back some good memories.

Just because I could write out the whole fucking china poem correctly, thus deviating from my normal behavior of getting a grand total of about 2 words right, the teacher flipped through my foolscap pad and found a copy underneath. My greatest regret is not getting a demerit point for something more manly, like fighting, or selling porn.

Mrs Look (DM): “I’m calling your father now, you tell him what you’ve done yourself.”

Ring ring, “Hello pa? Err wo gang gang cheat in na ge Culture test.. hee hee”

“WHY ARE YOU SMILING? YOU THINK IS FUNNY?”

“I wasn’t smiling.”

“YOU STILL DARE TO DENY?”

“Really I never smile!”

“MR CHUA, YOUR SON THINKS THIS IS VERY FUNNY AND IS NOT SERIOUS ABOUT THIS AT ALL.”

“I think I was nervous then let out a smile..”

“I just said I did.. I was nervous.”

“… Okay, so did any of your classmates cheat also?”

Update

WordPress has changed since I last blogged.

So I turned 18 on Saturday, supposedly marking my momentous first steps into adulthood. My good friends planned a surprise party which wasn’t very surprising, considering I had to invite people myself to come at the last minute. Nonetheless a big thank you to ven, stef, cj, anabel, jh, rj, kwan, and gopal & his chick, for making the special occasion extra special and memorable for me. Thanks also to everyone who wished me, and for those of you who forgot please go fuck yourself, kiddddding… no one would forget la. For more pics please refer to this, this, this, and this.

On my 18th birthday, I wished for happiness, health, maturity, wisdom and of course world peace.

Dad

Recently my father showed me some of the drawings he did while he was around my age. I don’t know why he hadn’t shown me for 17 years.

He loved to draw planes, helicopters, tanks and stuff like that. While I prefer human portraits to vehicles, I can appreciate that some of them are really really good. I wondered why he didn’t pursue something he was good at and had interest for, so I asked. He said “You know, there’s not much money to be made in art”. Part of me understood his pragmatism, but another part felt sorry for the state he’s in now, after how he had abandoned his passion.

Anywayyyy, I was thinking, which is quite a rare occasion nowadays, why don’t people get bored with their mundane lives? My impression of people my age is that their lives basically involves studying, tv, dota, maybe some cca, or hanging out at the mall. And for older people, work, and maybe some sex – occasionally. VERY EXCITING MEH? Where is that motivation to wake up the next time the sun rises? How do you get that extra kick from breathing in another breath of air? Who are the exciting people out there keeping the secrets of contentment from me? Why is it that I feel I’m missing out on the very essence of existence?!?!?

Fuck my early morning hangovers, I need some chocolate
